Deepa Chitre has over 30 years of Corporate IT experience and has recently switched to academics in the role of “Professor of Practice” at Father Agnel College of Engineering Mumbai with. In this role, she is responsible for helping engineering graduates learn the technology as well as upskilling them to be ready for professional life. Before this, Deepa worked for multiple MNC banks including Lehman Brothers and JP Morgan, responsible for managing testing activities for securities applications. She has also led IT Audit teams and Application security teams. She has single handedly run successful learning programs for these organizations including “Agile Coaching” for teams transitioning from waterfall to Agile. As part of this transition, she focused on the mindset shift required for a successful transition to agile methodology and not limit herself to the events and roles. She has been a technology trainer covering ISTQB certifications and training for freshers joining banks. As part of her IT service industry experience, she worked with clients across the globe and played various roles from a developer to Project manager to Test manager as well as Program manager. Deepa is passionate about learning and making education effective for professional life and not merely catering to academic success. She is channelling her industry experience to come up with a model to get ready for professional life.
